What is CCTV Live Monitoring?
Ans: Monitoring particular are live and not storing the display for any future reference required.
What is CCTV Recording & Surveillance?
Ans: CCTV Recording means, storing camera display either in PC Harddisk or StandAlond DVR hardisk for surveillance purpose. The same recording is accessible later for detering theft, mischief or any illegal activities in area. The CCTV Recording can also be used for business enhancement purpose and training purpose. Today CCTV is need of merely every place because world is not secure and trustworthy as it used to be.
What is CCD Camera and how they are better than CMOS chinese camera?
Ans: CCD stands for "Charged Coupled Device". CCD is latest technology in CCTV Analogue display and provides clear and crystal images. CCD camera also give picture under low light. CMOS is very old technology it has remained to market only because of it's cheap price. below is the example of picture taken by CMOS and CCD camera.
CMOS vs. CCD - Most cheap cameras sold are using CMOS sensors, unless specified as CCD. CCD technology is better and produces sharper resolution color reproductions. E.g. lower cost mobile phones are using CMOS sensors, while an expensive digital camera uses CCD sensors.
This is not typical CMOS CHINESE camera which is sold by some vendors. This is CCD (Charged Coupled Device) Color Camera.
The Core component of camera is it's CCD (Image Processor)
It's like your computer where you identify the computer performace by Celeron, Pentium 4 etc.
The CCD is the image sensor of camera where image is captured and processed, therefore the clarity and resolution of captured images entirely depend on that.
The Image quality of this CCD camera is thousand time better than CMOS chinese cameras.

What are the types of CCTV CCD Camera and where they are used?
Ans: The following are the type of CCD Camera.
Dome CCD Camera : CCD camera is either fiitted in Dome(Ceiling Fitting) or in Metal Cabinet(wall mount) are used in Office, Garage, Workshop, Supermarket, Parking Area merely everywhere where area of surveillance is fixed.
C/CS Mount CCD Camera : C/CS Mount camera are used for enhancing the clarity, distance, lighting, backlight, zoom etc. by adding specific lens.
InfraRed Nightvision CCD Camera: InfraRed NightVision camera are used for night surveillance in low to zero light areas. This camera are available in range according to coverage distance.
What is the warranty on products & who are the Manufacturers or parent companies?
Ans: All the products have 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. We sell only genuine and standard products. We provide parent company URL so you can check and verifty the technical specifications and look of the product.
How to determine good camera from others?
Ans: CCTV camera are determined with their resolution in terms of TVLines.
350 -400 TVLines >> Normal Resolution
420-520 TVLines >> High Resolution
600 & more >> Superfine Resolution
What are NightVision Camera?
Ans: Nightvision camera are used for night surveillance. InfraRed camera works as color camera during daytime and black & white during nights. The IR LEDs turns on automatically upon low light. Following is the example.
Where to use InfraRed Dome and Where to use InfraRed Box Camera?
Ans: Dome InfraRed are used in Office, Garage or Indoor locations. The BOX InfraRed camera are used in warehouse, outdoor. The simple understanding is Dome if for Ceiling Mount and Box Camera are for wall mount.
What does the no. of LEDs represent in InfraRed Nightvision camera?
Ans: The number of LEDs represent the distance covered. More the number of LEDs wider and deeper the coverage.
Dome Camera V/S C-Mount Camera
Ans: There is no basic difference unless TVLines mentioned different between Dome and C-Mount camera. As specified earlier the Camera clarity depends on TVLines. C-Mount camera are used if you want to attach enhanced lens like Varifocal, AutiIris, Zoom etc.
Do I need to use C-Mount camera for wall mounting purpose only?
Ans: For the purpose of wall-mounting, you can use Mini Metal cabinet in lieu of Dome and use the Board CCD camera which are used in Dome camera or wall mount.
Where & Why to use C-Mount of Box Camera?
Ans: C-Mount camera are used for the purpose of Auto Iris, Varifocal and Zoom lens addition.
How the different lens give different angle of view?
Ans. Below are some of the example of image taken with camer with different lenses.
|
3.6 mm Lens with 1/3 Camera
Area: 49' Width X 35' Height |
6 mm Lens with 1/3 Camera
Area: 29' Width X 21' Height |
8 mm Lens with 1/3 Camera
Area: 22' Width X 16' Height |
15 mm Lens with 1/3 Camera
Area: 12' Width X 9' Height |

What is the purpose of AutoIris lens and Varifocal lens?
Ans: AutoIris lens give clear and uniform images in every lighting conditions. It is used where lighting conditions varies time to time. If Clear and crystal images are essential in that particular area then one can go for AutoIris Lens. Varifocal lens are used where a area coverage needs to be changed frequently. for e.g. on one occasion you require to cover entire gate and on other you need to only cover entry of vehicles with their number plate. So with Varifocal lens you can adjust the focal point and concentrate particular area.
What is Outdoor Housing & where it is used?
Ans: Outdoor housing is used in case when a camera are prone to dust, wind, rain showers, sunlight etc. According to the nature of mounting one can select the sutiable outdoor housing.
What are IP Camera & how they are different from CCD camera?
Ans: IP camera are the latest innovation in CCTV Industry and has changed the way Surveillance systems are handled. All over the world major new Turn Key projects are installed using IP cameras only due to their flexibility, easy operations & Central Monitoring adaptability without any additional hardware. As they are in entry level yet the costing is higher compare to typical analog camera, thus it's penetration in the small to medium sized enterprises and home security is very minimal. IP Camera produces digital images, which are easy to store/manage/manipulate. Normal CCTV camera produce Analog images which are then processed by additional devices like DVR for storage and processing.
What is Pin Hole camera?
Ans: Pin Camera is useful for covert surveillance operations. Please check your local rules and regulations before purchasing.
What are Spy camera with DVR?
Ans: Spy Camera with DVR is a 3rd Generation mobile compaq device which has camera, dvr and battery all integrated in single unit which is easy to carry and hide. This is also used for covert operations.
What is DVR?
Ans: DVR extends as "Digital Video Recorder". The DVR is used when recording of surveillance camera is required for future references and analysis. There are two types of DVR PC based and StandAlone DVR. A New Network Video Server is also introduced for recording IP camera.
What is the difference between PCBased DVR and StandAlone DVR?
Ans: PC Based DVR are PCI cards which get installed in Computer System. The Cameras are then connected to DVR card. The Software is supplied with the DVR card. Which runs on Computer system and records all the moves of connected cameras to computer harddisk in desired mode.
StandAlone DVR are Independant Device which has it's own hardware specifically designed to record/play/broadcast/manager camera videos. A harddisk is also installed in standalone DVR. The comparison is given below:
| PC-Based DVR |
StandAlone DVR |
| The cost is very reasonable compare to Standalone. About 30%(PC required) |
The cost is higher. (PC not required) |
| Easy to upgrade and increase the numnber of camera. No need to replace hardware. Just add more cards. |
To increase the camera or upgrade, the whole hardware unit needs to be replaced and you get nothing by reselling the old. |
| Can add any number of Hard disk in computer. So Increasing storage capacity is never a problem. |
Has limited number of slots for Hard disk attachment. |
| The PC interface are more easy to understand, operate and manage. |
The product has manual and it's easy to learn the functions. |
| In case of any non-repairable problem, only the DVR cards are needed to be replaced. |
The whole Unit is replaced for non-repairable problem. Again costlier to replace. |
| Major role of recording/storing is handled by PC so maintenance and repairing is easy and economical. |
The whole system is integrated. A small error may lead surrendering product for repairing. |
| Small Units. Easy to carry and Install. |
Big DVD type units. |
| No yearly maintenance contracts. Need not pay extra for maintenance every year for service or just cleaning hardware. |
Extra care is required to maintain the unit from Dust & humidity. For cleaning or just blowing air the Vendor may charge hefty annual maintenance conract. |
| If you have PC which can be spared, then Best Solution |
If you do not have PC then Better option. |
What is the difference between Software Compression and Hardware Compression?
Ans: Software Compression consumes more PC resources for compressing images and require more space to store recording in Harddisk. For Remote Viewing over Internet, because of the bigger images sizes the less frames are viewed on remote site comapre to hardware compression.
Hardware Compression uses it's own codec and hardware to compress the images making them best possible size without compromising quality. Requires less harddisk size and remove viewing gives more frames compare to software compression cards.
Hardware Compression 10 days recording = Software Compression 6 days recording.
Note: Today the Harddisk are available at very cheap rate so can add additional hard disk for more days of storage.
The only major factor for choosing Hardware Compression DVR card is for Remote Viewing. If Remote Viewing is essential and more number of frames are required on remote site then one can go for Hardware Compression cards.
What is the difference between MPEG4 & H.264 Hardware Compression DVR cards?
Ans: H.264 is latest technology. Like mobile phones, the latest versions are more powerful and have more features then older ones. The purpose of surveillance is fulfilled in both technology. Please visit below site to understand the difference between this two codecs.

What is the difference between Realtime & Non-Realtime DVR?
Ans: Realtime DVR stores recording in full frames (i.e. 25 Frames Per Second) for each camera. The recording is played as you watch movie or tv shows. In Non-Realtime DVR the recording is done for less than 25 Frames per camera adjusted against number of camera and total frames capacity of dvr. Non realtime recording plays like you are watching slow motion.
